The Union Cabinet has approved the Noida Metro extension from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden, a transformative 11.56-km corridor that will deliver seamless connectivity between Greater Noida and Delhi. This highly anticipated Aqua Line–Blue Line Metro link will feature eight new stations, including Sector 44, Sector 96 (Noida Authority), Sectors 97, 105, 108, 93, Panchsheel Balak Inter College, and Botanical Garden, significantly enhancing daily commuting for an estimated 80,000 passengers in the initial phase. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and approved by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation before receiving final clearance. Once operational, the corridor will provide a direct interchange at Botanical Garden Metro Station, enabling smooth transfers between the Aqua Line and Delhi Metro’s Blue Line, reducing traffic congestion, cutting travel time, and improving last-mile connectivity. The project will also strengthen access to the upcoming Noida International Airport, boosting real estate growth, commercial development, and overall infrastructure expansion in Noida and Greater Noida. With tenders expected to be issued soon, the Noida Metro extension project marks a major milestone in NCR’s urban mobility and sustainable transport development.
